Quynh Mi

Yoga Instructor

Quynh's was first introduced to yoga in 2009, when Andrew McIlroy was teaching out of Second Avenue Studios, and Sjanie McInnis came in to teach yoga before Scene Study class. She is honored to have come full circle into the seat of the teacher, sharing the benefits of yoga with fellow performers.

It was in 2010 that Quynh began her own yoga journey. She has been teaching since 2014. It is her own personal practice which nourishes her, and you will find her as a student on the mat most days, gaining insight and inspiration from her community of fellow teachers and yogis. Yoga allows her to explore breath and movement in a way that helps her connect deeply, both to herself and to those around her. This led her to complete a 200-Hour Teacher Training in 2014 with YYOGA. She teaches a full spectrum of styles: vinyasa flow, yin, prenatal, hatha, and hot. Additional teacher training completed include 50-Hour Yin with Bernie Clark, 85-Hour Prenatal with Teresa Campbell, 25-Hour Vinyasa Flow with Seane Corn, Meditation with Carolyn Ann Budgell, Yoga Nidra with Michèle Denis, and YSculpt with Hana Weinwurm. Quynh's classes are a warm invitation to let go of doing, and get into feeling. “Your only job is to breathe, and to watch yourself breathe”. The end goal of the yoga practice is not about getting stronger in the poses, but about practicing presence and be able to show up in life off the mat.

Quynh is also an actor, alumnus of Canada's National Voice Intensive (now known as the Moving Voice Institute), and the Arts Club Actor's Intensive. She weaves in aspects of the performer's toolbox into her yoga teachings, and vice versa, having discovered many common threads in both disciplines, like releasing tension, barriers, and habits so that the true self, in all its imperfect glory, is available.
