Starlise Waschuk has a diploma in Theatre studies and an applied degree in Motion Picture Arts. She is a graduate of the Canadian National Voice Intensive and is currently in her final year of her teacher training with Patsy Rodenburg. Starlise will complete her certification in person with Patsy in Portugal Summer 2022 at which point she will be an official Patsy Rodenburg Associate (PRA).

She has a strong movement background with a black belt in karate and twenty years of dance experience. She enjoys yoga, Feldenkrais, Pilates, and meditation. She is very curious about the body and specifically how the body can: remember, contain and express many stories.  She also has curiosity about the connection between the body, breath, mind and spirit—And how that pertains to being an actor.

As a teacher, her approach is to honour ones own truth in the body and she encourages story-telling from a place of connection and vulnerability. She believes in empowering the student, reminding them that they have a right to breath, a right to be, and a right to speak.

Starlise began her teaching journey as a Sensei teaching martial arts. Currently she guest teaches Young Adults Classes with Beatrice King. Starlise guest taught at New Image College, Langara College and was the head teacher for the Children's Acting Program at Richmond's Media Lab.

Starlise is an advocate for creating your own work. She has produced numerous short films, web-series and plays. Her notable produced films include: Bonheur (Edmonton International Film festival), Salt Water (Oregon Film Festival), and Soldiers of Earth (Leo Nominated).

Her favourite theatre roles include: Matilda in "Zastrozzi: The Master of Discipline" (Star & Moon Production), Woman in "Miss Understood" (frank theatre), Sylvia in "Sylvia" (North Vancouver Community Players, Katie in "Bachelorette" (Bilodeau Productions), and Ophelia in (Blackspear's Production) of “Hamlet”.
